The Exams

The qualification procedure consists of a successfully completed written and oral examination.

Written examination

Admission criteria written examination

The following conditions must be met by the candidate at the time of the written examination:

  • must be employed by a financial institution d.

The written examination tests all relevant technical skill for the selected program.

Oral examination

The following conditions must be met by the candidate at the time of the oral examination:

  • must be employed by a financial institution
  • must have a client book, participate in such a book or work as an independent specialist for clients and be in direct contact with them.
  • must have one of the roles defined in the examination provider's technical documentation
  • must have passed all required

During the oral examination, examination experts systematically observe and assess the ability of the candidates to give advice. To make this assessment in a framework which is as close to reality as possible, the conduct and professional skills are tested on the basis of a simulated discussion with a client.

 

Inspection (only possible in case of failed oral examinations)

If you failed the examination, you can ask to inspect the examination documents. The application for inspection has to be submitted in writing within 30 days of receiving the results. The inspection of documents is subject to a fee (CHF 400). The fee will be reimbursed if a subsequent appeal is upheld.

Objection

You have the option of filing an objection within 30 days of inspecting the examination documents. The objection has to be submitted in written form. The inspection fee (CHF 400) will be reimbursed if your objection is subsequently upheld.

Redress

If you do not agree with the decision reached about your objection, you have the option of filing a redress. This redress must be submitted in written form to the SAQ Programme Committee within 30 days of receiving the decision (postmark). Both the inspection fee (CHF 400) as well as the objection fee (CHF 400) will be reimbursed if your redress is subsequently upheld.

Appeal

Appeals relating to the holding or organization of the certification or negative decisions on a redress are to be submitted in written form to the SAQ Programme Committee. The appeal must be submitted within 30 days after the receipt of the written decision.

The fee of CHF 400 will be reimbursed in case of an approval.
